Course creator Julie Eickhoff has worked as a professional voice artist since 2011 – narrating + producing 120+ audio books and other voice projects. Before this, she worked in television broadcasting, where she got started in voice-over work.

Included in the program is a review of your voice recordings + advice on what types of work fit your voice style.

Typical rates for audio book narration are $150 to $350 per finished hour. For example, a 6-hour audiobook might pay you $900 to $2,100.

Other shorter video or audio narrations average from $100 to $500 (for projects usually less than 1 hour in length).

The most important skill is the ability to bring words to life. If you have an unusual voice or accent, it helps (but it’s not a requirement). Every kind of voice is needed in different situations.

The content only takes around 5 hours to complete, but you’ll need to stop and do things after each section (like set up your recording area and practice using the audio recording software). It’ll probably take you 2 to 4 months to complete all the necessary steps.

As you’re taking the course, there’s a place where you can send questions directly to Julie. She’ll answer you there.

Once you complete the course, you also get a personal voice review with Julie. She’ll send you a detailed report – including how to describe your voice to potential clients, what genres might be great fits for your voice, ways you can improve your performance, and any recording or editing issues she hears (and how to correct them).

You have access to the course for 12 months, which includes a way to send your questions directly to Julie as you go through the course. If you feel you need more than 12 months, you can always email Julie to ask for additional time (if your 12 months are almost up).

A big part of this course includes how to find clients ready to pay you for your voice work.

Julie also does a voice review for you – after you complete the course. She’ll make recommendations for your voice style + what kinds of work are best suited for your voice.

You’ll receive scripts to record + send to Julie.

She’ll give you detailed feedback on the recordings you send her – on how to make them as professional as possible to impress potential clients.
